CIVIC ART LAB 5.0

Civic Art Lab: Closing the Loop + Inhabiting the Loop is the fifth iteration of an annual, volunteer-powered arts-activism, design, and sustainability-science lab marking 10 years of free community-driven events. The lab brings together artists, designers, technologists, activists, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers, and learners from throughout New York City and beyond!

During October 11 - 13 weekend, we offer a series of unique workshops, events, and exhibitions that investigate climate resilience, creative reuse and technologies, food science and permaculture, environmental justice, wellness, and civic stewardship.

We welcome visitors to kick off the lab with us on Friday evening with an engaging multimedia performance by Anna Nazo. We are thrilled to welcome back Stic of RGB Fit Club and Dead Prez for a Saturday evening keynote and open dialogue.

Civic Art Lab is hosted by GreenspaceNYC (www.greenspacenyc.org), a non-profit collaborative that develops and curates free educational programming, hands-on workshops, and public design projects that encourage dialogue, enliven public spaces, and promote the future of more equitable and sustainable cities. Past workshops, exhibitions, and events have been held at Parsons School of Design, the New Museum, IDC w/ Sesame Workshop, and more.
