MODERN COGNITION | MILLENNIAL MATTER

Chinatown Soup is pleased to present Modern Cognition | Millennial Matter, an experimental art show by Anusha Alamgir. Please join us for an evening reception on Saturday, May 25 from 7-10pm.

In this show, Anusha explores mental strain from overstimulation of the brain. Her work inspects themes of Future Shock and the cognitive potentialities of exposure to constant media. On display you will discover a life-sized cast of the artist’s head created from an experiment with silicone and resin. Film and photography round out her chosen mediums. This is Anusha’s first solo showing in New York.

Anusha Alamgir (b. 1995) is a New York-based Bangladeshi artist. She earned a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and implements her formal training to activate spaces that raise social awareness about controversial topics in modern media for brands such as Mercedes, Puma, Delta, Absolut, and Google. She has also worked for musicians, designing stages and concert sets for A$AP Rocky and Robin Thicke. Her work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Dhaka, and (now) New York.
